Install Protools from Avid on a personal device

Install Protools from Avid on a personal device by creating an Avid and iLok account. This walkthrough also uses the free trial to get download access from avid.

1 Head to Avid.com and click sign in

2 Create an avid account with your colum.edu email

You will end up on the products page after you create the account. Don't get to excited there aren't any products yet. Now you need to go get a free trial of Protools so you can download the software

3. Got to Protools Page https://www.avid.com/pro-tools and Click Free Trial  for ProTools

4 Avid makes you make an iLok account if you don't already have one. THis account will license the software for the trial after that you can use the iLok Key server see ???

5. Answer the iLok account questions

6 Confirm your email address

7 You should now have an email with a download link to the protools installer. You can also now see the installer in My Products on you avid account page https://my.avid.com/account
