How to Install Global Protect on a PC For Faculty and Staff

Navigate to your local browser.  Enter https://trestle.colum.edu in the search box and click enter.  Please make sure to use Chrome when installing VPN.

If you are on the Columbia campus wifi or wired network you cannot connect to trestle,colum.edu you need to be off campus.​​​​​​​

 

Note https://trestle.colum.edu is for Faculty and Staff not for Students. Students  should use https://truss.colum.edu see KB https://colum.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/2029/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?ID=116341

Click Advance.

Click Accept the Risk and Continue.

Enter your My Columbia Username and password then click Log in.

If you are enrolled in DUO two form authentication, you will need to check your DUO push and accept the request.

Download Global Protect agent based on your device (Windows or Mac).

Click Save.

Click on the downloads.

Click ok.

Click Next.

Click Next.

Click Next.

Set-up is now complete so click close.

On your device search for Global Protect and click Open.

 

 

Click Settings.

Click Add.

 

For faculty and staff enter trestle.colum.edu  and for students enter truss.colum.edu  and click click save.

Once trestle.colum.edu has been added you will close out the screen.

Search for Global Protect and click Open.

Click Connect.

Enter your MyColumbiaID username (i.e. Jdoe) and Office 365 Password. Click Sign in.

 

Before you are officially logged in you will need to follow the process for Duo Authentication.

You are now successfully connected to the Interim VPN. When you are finished using the vpn make sure to disconnect.

Please note: After 12 hours of inactivity the VPN will disconnect
