How to set up a Polycom conference phone

This is a conference room phone that will allow you to have a phone call during a meeting.

  1. Begin by positioning the Polycom unit near the center of the room.

  1. Place the Sound Station near a phone port and wall outlet.

  1. Plug each unit’s respective power cable into a wall or floor outlet. Be sure not to get their cables mixed up! Note the illustrations on the tags.

  1. Next connect the twin satellite microphones. Simply plug them into the ports located on the sides of the Polycom unit. This step is optional. If you are setting the phone in a smaller conference room these may not be needed.

  1. Now plug the sound station into the nearby phone port using the supplied phone cable. One end goes into the port on the wall while the other goes into the sound station. Phone line connections will be white in color. Network (internet) connections will be blue. Make sure to only plug the phone into a white port.

  1. Once everything has been connected a green light should show on the Polycom unit. Test the Polycom by making a few calls. Dial 9 then 1 then a telephone number to make a call outside Columbia or you can just enter a telephone extension if making an internal call. Once you have entered a number press the left most “Call” button marked with a phone symbol.
