How to Connect Columbia's Wireless on an Android Device

Adding Columbia Wi-Fi on an Android

This is the wireless network dedicated to all students, faculty, and staff.  The following screenshots detail the steps to connect to Columbia’s network using an Android device.

 

  1. First, select the settings icon and choose, “Connections” then “Wi-Fi”. Depending on your device the feature may be titled different.

   

2. Choose, “Columbia FacStaff” or “Columbia Student”.

   3. You will be directed to input the following information below.

  • EAP methodLeave to default option and make sure PEAP is selected.
  • Phase 2 authentication - Leave to default method selected.
  • CA certificate - This step is a little tricky.  Some Android devices may not need to validate certificates. If you see this option go ahead and click on the drop-down arrow and select, “Don’t Validate.”
  • Identity – Email username. Ex: jcolumbia
  • Anonymous identity – Do not enter any information, leave blank.
  • Password – Enter the email password.

 

Note: Columbia College Wi-Fi is encrypted and secure for all students, faculty, staff, and guests.

 

 4. After inputting all of your information your device will state “Connected” and you now have access to Columbia network on your mobile device.
