How do save locally while using Horizon

  1. Download and install the program Horizon directly from this link: https://my.vmware.com/en/web/vmware/downloads/info/slug/desktop_end_user_computing/vmware_horizon_clients/horizon_8.

  2. Choose the version for your computer (Mac or Windows) and install it.

  3. Then click on “Add server” button and enter “horizon.colum.edu”. Then sign-in using your Columbia ID and password. Be certain to change the third field from AD to AD600 or you’ll never get in.

  4. Then click on “MyC Self Service” and login to the MyC system just as usual. Navigate to the “View paycheck”.

  5. But now because you have installed the Horizon program (not just opened it in a browser) you have more capabilities. When you try to save the file, you will now have the option to save to \\TSCLIENT\ which is your local computer in your home.

  6. Double-click on TSCLIENT and it will open up and show you the folders on your home computer; save the file where you want to.

  7. Its recommended that you change the name of the PDF file to something meaningful to you, like “Document A” or something that you will remember.
